PERFECT STORM
"Perfect Storm" originally started as natuaral progression from the much loved "Sitting Pretty" series and has developed in to what has become my strongest maratime based work.For me Perfect Storm is a very personal group of work. Inspired by years of stored mental images and snap shots enjoyed from trips on my Fathers boat and his stories of dramatic racing scenes in carrick roads.The dramatic winter scenes that I wake to more often than not in the cold winter months in Cornwall are so inspiring something new and exciting had to happen.I was troubled at one stage at losing the passion originally found in the Sitting Pretty series and achieving for myself and the client a sense of progression and development. My Father always talked of dark dramatic rolling seas with yatchts batteling to sail through them with such passion.
With Flushing, St Mawes and St Anthonys light House just outside my window I am spoilt for choice - I felt I hadn't really looked before,I was seeing with new eyes.How could I not indulge in painting these amazing scenes.I began to truly understand my Fathers passion and obsession with our Cornish waters and the visual delights taken for granted every day.In the thick of winter one will often see beautiful ominouse clouds full of immense depth forming dark shapes and shadows over stunning white yatchts on the horizon, great inspiration for new works!

LAMORNA HAS TAKEN 18 MONTHS MATERNITY LEAVE AND AIMS TO GET BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD IN 2012.
